An opportunity to learn what every geomechanics analyst should know
I am writing to bring to your attention announcement of a 3-day residential course on ‘Constitutive models for geomaterials’ being organized by the International Centre for Computational Engineering (IC2E) in Rhodes, Greece, 8-10 December 2011. The course will be delivered by Professor Poul Lade, Catholic University of Washington DC, USA, Professor Stan Pietruszczak, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada & I. Further details are available at http://www.ic2e.org.
Though the course will be ‘software/vendor neutral’ and will concentrate on ‘basics’ instead of ‘getting results’, strong and weak points of various commercially available software, will be discussed. Further details are given in the attached leaflet.
The course will be of interest to engineers, researchers and students, especially those whose background is either in geomechanics or in related fields such as mining, geology, petroleum engineering, computer science etc.
